Haugen wraps up a stellar career at Bowdoin by ranking first in the league in assists (9.75/set) with 809 on the season. She is the third Polar Bear to be named NESCAC Rookie of the Year, joining Caroline Flaharty (2016) and Kate Kiser (2017). Her 351 kills were tops in the conference by a wide margin and rank fourth in a single-season all-time at Bowdoin. LaMendola burst onto the scene with one of the best first-year campaigns in Bowdoin history, racking up 4.08 kills/set and 2.73 digs/set this fall. LaMendola was named as NESCAC Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-NESCAC selection while Haugen captured Second Team All-NESCAC honors.
BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin College first-year Skye LaMendola (Farmers Branch, Texas) and senior Ella Haugen (Edina, Minn.) have been recognized in All-Conference honors announced by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Tuesday.
